About
Juliette Markman is a NYC-based director, writer, and theatre-maker. A Connecticut native, Juliette has been involved in the theatre scene for over 15 years. She is currently receiving her undergraduate training at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, studying directing at Playwrights Horizons Theatre School. She is in the top 1% of her class at Tisch, receiving a degree in drama with a minor in producing. In addition to her coursework, she is currently a Script Intern at Saturday Night Live.
In 2025 she interned at Adventureland, Jeffrey Seller’s producing company, and at The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences as a Screening Intern for the International Emmy Awards.
Juliette previously served as the Directing and Playwriting Apprentice at Shakespeare on the Sound in the summer of 2024, Assistant Directing a production of Romeo and Juliet while simultaneously adapting Shakespeare’s work for young audiences. Before that, Juliette was the Artistic and Literary Intern with The York Theatre Company, a not-for-profit theatre based in Manhattan.
Her philosophy is that a theatrical leader should be well-versed in every aspect of the creative process, and though she has a main focus in directing, she is a multi-hyphenate artist with experience in acting, design, and more. She is excited to be a part of the many women who will be joining the next generation of directors and theatre-makers!
